Is Bondi Beach worth visiting?

Bondi Beach is the epitome of a typical Australian lifestyle.

Hot weather, white sand, blue water, laid-back surfers, and BBQ’s on the beach. It is one of Sydney’s largest attractions and is definitely worth a visit on your travels!

Why is Bondi Beach so famous?

There are many reasons why visitors from all around the world flock to the heritage listed Bondi Beach. The combination of the warm water temperatures, golden sand, stunning vista’s, and an abundance of entertaining activities to do in the area, are all apart of the reason why Bondi Beach is such a well known and popular attraction in Australia. Located only a short drive from Sydney’s CBD, it is easily accessible from just about anywhere.

Must do’s when visiting the beautiful Bondi Beach

1. Walk the iconic Bondi to Bronte coastal trail

The Bondi to Bronte coastal walk is at the top of the list of things to do when exploring Bondi, for good reason. This track will give you the opportunity to see over 4 kilometres of breath-taking ocean views, stunning scenery, beaches, cafes and so much more. Be sure to stop off at one of the many vantage points where you may be lucky to see whales and dolphins swimming by in the right season.

2. Pick up some souvenirs at the Bondi Market

The Bondi Markets have been running every Sunday from 10-4pm since 1993. They are located in the grounds of Bondi Beach Public School, just across the road from the beach itself. The market has just about everything you can think of, and you may expect to find anything from clothing, furniture, vintage pieces, art, jewellery and so much more. The markets are a lovely way to interact with the friendly locals and pick up a souvenir for your loved ones at home.

3. Enjoy fresh fish and chips at the beach for lunch

Another Australian right of passage is to enjoy a fresh catch at the beach! There are plenty of places to pick up some delicious fish and chips and head down to the beach and soak up the sun. Notable restaurants include, Fishmongers, Out of the Blue, Bondi Road Seafoods, Takkam Café, and Costi’s Famous Fish.

4. Check out the iconic Bondi Icebergs

Chances are you have seen a picture of the famous Bondi Icebergs. It is a swimming club located at the southern end of Bondi Beach overlooking the beach itself. It was established in 1929 and has a highly respected reputation with its exclusive members. Although, anyone can still swim in the world-famous pool while visiting the area. It is $7 for adults and $5 for children to swim in the pool and sauna of the Bondi Icebergs, this opportunity will give you an insight into the everyday life of the affluent who have gained memberships to the Iceberg swimming club.

5. Watch the stunning sunset

Everybody loves a beautiful sunset to finish off a day of adventuring. Grab a seat and a beer at one of the many beachside bars and wind down after a busy day. Watch the sunset as you reminisce on your exciting day exploring all that Bondi Beach has to offer.
