Is the Daintree worth Visiting?

The Daintree Rainforest is located in far north Queensland and is the oldest rainforest in the entire world.

This pristine region of Australia is untouched by commercial tourism and is home to stunning beaches, lush rainforest, and famous wonder of the world, the Great Barrier Reef. The combination of these diverse landscapes makes it a destination that is it is definitely worth visiting!

1. Visit Mossman Gorge

Mossman Gorge is located in the southern area of the Daintree Rainforest and is tropical oasis that leaves everybody who visits, impressed. This region is extremely ecologically diverse and is home to stunning landscapes, pristine waterfalls, towering mountains, and a fascinating history surrounding the first peoples of Australia.

2. Horse Riding on Cape Tribulation Beach

Riding a horse along the remote beaches of Cape Tribulation is definitely an experience of a lifetime! This amazing activity will take you through the jungle and along the sands of the Myall Beach on horseback. This is a unique and peaceful way to discover the beauty of the Daintree Rainforest.

3. Hike the through the Rainforest

The Daintree is one of the oldest rainforests in the whole world and is estimated to be around 180 million years old. Explore this tropical paradise by tackling one of the many hiking and walking tracks that are nestled in the jungle. The most popular trail is the 3-hour return trek of Mt. Sorrow. It is a 680-metre-high mountain that showcases some of the most amazing views in Queensland. The world heritage site, the Great Barrier Reef is visible from the summit and the views are stunning.

4. Snorkel or Scuba dive at the Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef extends over a huge part along the coast of Queensland, the southern area is very touristy, however, the northern Great Barrier Reef region that meets the Daintree Rainforest, is virtually untouched compared to others. The coral and marine life are much more vibrant and abundant, therefore making it the perfect destination to snorkel or scuba dive the magnificent reef!
